Having a nominee for your bank account is a highly crucial “good practice”.
Whenever you open a bank account – be it a savings account, or current account or any kind of deposit accounts like FD, RD, PPF etc. it is a good practice to add a nominee to that account.
Usually when you fill out the account opening application form, you will be asked whether you want to appoint a nominee for that account or not.
By all means, put a “Yes” to that question.
Just in case of a demise of the account holder, the account operation and the money in it becomes the responsibility of the nominee.
If you fail to add a nominee, then one must go through the process of taking the responsibility of the account, which is unnecessary and can be time consuming too.
If you have an account with KVB bank, you can either add a new nominee or change the existing nominee using the KVB’s mobile banking app DLite.
