A few days ago information about RBI’s new debit card rule was out. It created panic and discomfort among various debit and credit card users.

By January 2022, RBI announced that ecommerce websites and any websites that allow online transactions are not allowed to save credit or debit card details of their customers.

This means, customers should memorise their card details and enter them manually each time they complete an online transaction (shopping or otherwise).

This is seen definitely as a discomfort from the point of view of customers, even though it is purely for the safety of the customers themselves.

Another announcement by RBI has given some relief in this direction. It is the card tokenisation procedure that doesn’t require you to memorise your card details, at the same time allows you to shop safely.

In today’s video I share the details about the RBI card tokenisation announcement.
